ABOUT US - WHO WE ARE
Leadership that works in the field and in the boardroom. We bring oilfield pragmatism, microbial know how, and disciplined capital stewardship to every asset we touch.
Geoff Vaughan is a serial entrepreneur with a track record of building ventures that unlock value in overlooked and underperforming markets. He is the founder and chairman of Slingshot Investment Partners, Inc., a Houston-based oil & gas company focused on acquiring mismanaged leases and revitalizing them through advanced Microbial Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) techniques. His strategy combines technical innovation with lean, contractor-driven operations — delivering results without the burden of corporate overhead.
Over his career, Geoff has launched and advised projects across oil & gas, fintech, renewable energy microgrids, and consumer products. His hallmark is spotting inefficiencies — whether in energy production, financial systems, or emerging industries — and designing structures that realign incentives, transparency, and profitability.
Known for his relentless work ethic and creative drive, Geoff thrives at the intersection of big vision and execution, building companies that challenge convention and create lasting impact.

Mr. Borden has shown proven leadership and expertise in project management, lobbying, government compliance and marketing in highly competitive Oil Markets in Southern California and the Southwest. Lobbying and government relations has been a large focus in his professional career. In 2016 Mr. Borden presented numerous briefings to the California Geologic Energy Management Division (nee DOGGR) in relation to a proposed piece of legislation (2014 SB4). He maintained that Slingshot’s EOR techniques fall under a routine cleanout as described in their proposed legislative articles and the product we employ has no adverse effect on integrity of the well or the formation. This brief and subsequent meeting was essential to ensure this EOR technique falls out of the proposed rules. Throughout that year Mr. Borden attended many public forums and continued to liaise with members of the DOGGR during the “SB4 public comment” phase. His prior work experience working as a business consultant with extensive lobbying experience plays largely in working with governmental agencies and lawmakers.
Mr. Borden has attended Tulane University where he studied law and business and has a Graduate Certificate from Harvard Business School in Sustainable Business Strategies.
